We are a group of local people who are are concerned about the global problem of plastic use and the effects on our health, planet and the future of our children. Our aim is to inspire and facilitate others to reduce their plastic use and waste. We aim to share tips and information which will help us all reduce our global footprint and take the confusion out of recycling through raising public awareness.

WHAT WE HAVE ACHIEVED SO FAR

  • Created an eco and sustainable gift catalogue, and recycling directory 

  • Created & manage TerraCycle recycling points in Verwood

  • Created a successful Freecycle annual event, which is inspiring others to repeat it

  • Provided recycling facilities at The Rustic Fayre

  • Partner with other local groups such as Woodlands Clothes Swap

  • Provide a pop up recycling surgery for hard to recycle items 

  • Give talks to other local groups, societies and youth clubs

  • Support & coordinate our own and the Town Council litter picks

  • Loan of items such as a sewing machine to repair clothing

  • Won best community decorated float at Verwood Carnival 2023

  • Won Best Recycling Team 

  • Seasonal campaigns resulting in identifiable change in habits

  • Created a manual for action so that others can follow in our footsteps

  • Rolled out a litter picking initiative funded by Verwood Solar Farm Committee
